He can not and will not lie

Thank you Jesus, for being a man who will not and can not lie.   Thank you Lord for your promises. My trust is in you and you alone. You said it, that settles it.

A mood shoe

I need a pair of these in my life. I would wear them for days like today when I'm feeling that kinda way.

I'm losing it

Well if you've been reading my blog you know that once again over the summer I was on a quest to loose weight.  I had a nifty name for it and everything, operation destroy muffin top!  Well I'm sad to report that I fell off that wagon some time in July. I didn't give up' I just stopped trying so hard.  And so I've still been watching what I eat, but have been doing little no exercise :(  Although still, I'm happy to report that I am losing weight! Five pounds to be exact.  Now only about ten more to go. Yay me!!!

Til next time

At the movies oldies but goodies

I've been utilizing my local library for entertainment purposes. Over the past few weeks I've seen some old but good movies.  Thanks Public library!

This movie had me crying and it's in black & white
This movie took us two days to watch. I love black history!

This movie was scarier the first time around

More crying, lol

A true story

Most of these movies I seen as a child and they have just stuck with me.  What are some of your oldie but goodies?

Am I anti social?

Wanna find me? Where to look? Facebook? Twitter? Pintrest? Instagram? Google+? Nope, where could I be?  To be truthful all this social media gives me the creeps.  Yes, the creeps.  Why? It just does.
I'm a private person by nature and  I don't like the idea of people following me everywhere.lol. I'm not the one to jump on every bandwagon that comes along.

For right now my blog and youtube channel is as social as I'm gonna be.  Everything else is over kill and I have other things that I need to do with my life.  This lesson was learned by being on Facebook waaaay to much, it just seemed like a waste after a while.  This is just me I'm not knocking anybody else or what they choose to do with their time.

But for myself, sorry I just can't.  Til' next time.

I need a post

So I'm a little off with my posting and my challenge to post at least 30 post by the end of the month is running behind.  But I'm determined not to quit.   I got some tricks up my sleeve just to lazy to put the post together.  sigh.

My 500th post Yay!

I can't believe I've published 500 posts!  We I first started this blog it was just to get things off my chest and ideas out of my head.  I didn't think that I would keep it up.  But here I am at post 500.  Here's to 500 more.  May I continue to write and grow. Thank you all for the support and sticking with me, your very much appreciated.  I mean that from the bottom of my heart.  Thank you!

One of the best twistouts in a long time

Thanks to water, coconut oil, and let's jam custard.  I had the custard in my stash for a while now and I was going to use it for a different style and I still may, but I thought why not a twistout.  It gave me lots of twists and not as much frizz. Although it could still us some perfecting I'm happy with it.

I am happy although this pic doesn't look like it. lol. Til next time.

Fall is here everybody cheer

Yay! Fall one of my favorite seasons. I love fall for the colors, for the fashion, and because I'm a fall baby and so my birthday is in the fall,  November to be exact. What do you love about the fall?

Had to share

This is funny yet so true.

Try as they may

I paid off my Macy's card about three months ago and no sooner than I pay it off I get these tempting coupons in the mail.  Well try as they may I am not and will not charge up my card again.  I've had this card for a long time matter of fact it was one of my first credit cards granted to me.  And every time I pay it off I seem to charge it right back up.  Well no more with this madness!  I've made the decision to not charge anything that I can't pay off when the bill comes or don't charge at all.  I'm trying to stick to the don't charge at all.  So far so good :)

I don't want the coupons to go to waste so I just may take cash into the store, use my card to get the discount and then make a payment in the purchase amount immediately after.  I have til October to use them so we shall see.

I'm a lazy cook

Yes you read correctly, I'm a lazy cook.  So the crock pot is my best friend in the kitchen. I cook everything from lasagna to beef stew in my crock pot.  And even saw a segment on the Live Well Network where you can make dessert in a crock pot. I went to the web site and found those recipes asap!  I love to look for new crock pot recipes.   Not sure what I would do with out it.

Today is Sunday, and I love the idea of throwing a bunch of ingredients into a pot and not thinking of if for 3-5 hours.  I can go out or stay home and enjoy the day.
Do you cook? Do you love it or hate it?

My 5 instant pick me ups

I have to admit that today I was feeling really defeated.  And really could have wallowed in it if I wanted to.  But that's just not me if I can help it.  Which bring us to this post.  I had to get myself out of this rut and fast!  So I didn't do everything on my list but I got out of  the rut I was in just the same.

I put these Cd's on and get the dancing and singing and out the window my funky mood goes. Nothing like being reminded of who you are in Jesus to chase the blues away.

Nothing like retail therapy to put a smile on my face.   One of my favorite online stores was having a sale and I had a 25% off code on top of that so of course I had to get some shopping in.
I didn't have any on hand but chocolate is always an instant pick me up for me.

Changing my nail color or putting on some nail color shifts my mood to happy.

Last but not least putting my problems on the back burner and reaching out to someone else also lifts my spirits.

So how about you what are some of your pick me ups?

Til next time!

Decor on the wild side

I have a thing for animal print.  It show in my wardrobe and with the exception of my work desk not so much in my decor.  Here are a few ways that I would incorporate animal print into my decor if I ever got the mind to do so.

I would do it subtle with little hints here and there.  I think to go over board with it would be tacky.  I would keep it sweet and simple.  How about you, do you like to decorate with animal print?
Til next time,

You Have To Start Somewhere

How many times have you heard this?  For me hearing this makes me even less eager to get started on a task.  But oh, how true it is.  Especially when your attempting something you have never done before.  You have to start somewhere.   For me I like to be logical, for others they may just jump right in.  I don't think anything is wrong with either.  Why?  Because you have to start somewhere.  And the funny thing is that that somewhere can be anywhere you like.  Once you get started you may find that you're ahead of your self and you have to take a few steps back, but so what. In the end you got somewhere and if you continue on you will get to where you want to be.

So what is that thing that isn't going anywhere because you simply won't start?  What steps are you going to take to get started? Remember, you have to start somewhere :)

My Creative Mind: Journaling

Lately I've been journaling.  Journaling is one of the easiest ways to clear the mind.  With so many thoughts cluttering our minds on the daily we all can use an outlet.  I love that you can get as creative as you would like with your journal, by using art, magazine clippings, etc. to get your point across.  It can be fun and theraputic all at the same time.

Journal entries
The inside with blank page
The cover
I love flipping thru old books and magazines to spark a future entry.  If I don't use it for journaling I hold on to it for a possible collage. A picture can say a thousand words.  Just thought I'd share.

Do you journal or collage?
