Get that dirt off your shoulder

Or in my case my sewing machine. lol. I've been itching to pull it out and dust it off and get some projects going. I found out via sewl sista #1 that Vogue is having a sale on there patterns and this is what I have in mind. The both patterns are said to be easy. I still have limited sewing skill so I hope this is correct. Now I just need to get some fabric. Fabric shopping, yayyyy!

Til next time.

Lets create freestyle

A trip to the craft store.

Some old newspapers

Foam brushes

Tape and a glue gun

An original work of art

I really wanted to create something for my corner office. lol. I was originally going to use the letters of my initials but I couldn't see covering my work up once finished and I think the font of the letter I chose would make it look to crafty I'm going more for an artsy look.

I like the colors.  And may do more using different colors.  Does the metallic gold I used pick up OK or does it look brown?  It didn't go on as easy as the other colors, it took 3 or 4 coats to not be transparent.

Over all I'm happy with the turn out a great creative outlet one I haven't done in a long time.  Til next time lovelies.

Well the time has come :(

Well the time has come to get a new laptop. If I don't post as often it's because I'm without a computer. Please bear with me. I'll try to post as much as possible while I have access. I know this day was coming and even put a laptop on my Christmas list but at that time it really wasn't at the top of my list. Hopefully it won't be long. Til next time.

A Sound to Alarm

I haven't posted any art in awhile this is a new piece by Thomas Blackshear. I'm really feeling this piece. I think it's so beautiful. I think it shows how Gods angels keep watch over us.

That's Why We Pray

It was casual day at church today so I paired this sweatshirt that I got for Christmas with a skirt and tights.  The shirt says "Pray there is great power in it".  And I say Amen to that.

I pray that you all are well and are having a great weekend.  And that God would keep you and watch over you all as we go into a new week.  Til' next time.

Side note:  I really need to find a good place in my home to take better pics.  Sorry about the electrical switches and outlets.  So tacky I think. LOL

Light & Love

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Happy MLK Day!

Seek and you will find

Well here I am again. And once again I was feeling some kind of way. And once again I prayed about it and after a while I got a conclusion to how I was feeling and why.

The lord has revealed to me that I'm being impatient. Yes impatient. I'm wanting things to happen in my time instead of his time. His timing is perfect and it put me in the mind of the song "An on Time God", He may not come when you want him, but he'll be there right on time. He's an on time God, yes he is.  Now that I've come to know this, I know now to be patient and wait on him.

I'm leaning on the bible verse Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

"Lord help me to be patient. I know that you are working to do just what you said you would. Amen"

Continue to pray for me and I'll continue to pry for you all too.  Thanks for listening reading.  Til' next time.

Frugalista Files: 10 and 15 dollar stores

Do you love a good bargain? I know I do, here are a few store that I wanted to share. They have some really nice items and everything is 15 dollars or less.

Blue Halter Style Top W/Beading
I've placed an order here already. The items are of good quality.  A really nice tops and sweaters collection.  Everything is 10 dollars or less. Right now they are having a sale with everything being $7.77.  They even let you use coupons and take returns on items 365. This one is my favorite of all.

SOULMATES Stretch Shirred Double Breasted Jacket
I haven't placed an order here yet, they don't take returns so if the item doesn't fit right or isn't what you want your stuck with it.  So I am a little leery about ordering. Although I have heard good things about the store from those who did take the plunge.

Tank attached off shoulder animal print top

Everything here is either $10 or $15.  And if you can get past some of the scantly modeling it just may be worth the look.  I just came across this one last night, so I haven't placed an order yet.

Happy shopping!

New Edition and a New Year

Well I have been soooo excited this past week for the weekend to finely get here so that I could usher out 2011 with one of my favorite groups in the world! New Edition! This was the last part of my Christmas gift and was definitely the icing on the cake. What a way to end the year. The only disappointment was that I only got one good pic of the group and there back is to the camera :(
Well I'll let you see it anyway.

This was my look for the evening couldn't get a full body shot.
Resting my feet before the show
I will hold on to these forever
:( So wish I could get better pics but the stage was turning in a circle so they where all blurry but this one.  I think that's Bobby going for a towel.  They were all there Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, Ralph, Johnny.
These shoes, sigh. I was not afraid to kick them off during the show.  And o' so glad to kick them off once I got home.

I really enjoyed myself.   A great trip down memory lane.  Hope to catch them again next time they're in town.  How about you, what did you do to bring in the new year?
