Flash back and a flash forward

Flash back to Salt N Pepa with the ripped jeans and doorknocker earrings.  I was in the 5th or 6th grade wanting to wear my jeans ripped, but mom wouldn't let me. Didn't have my ears pierced so I did have earrings. Still I thought the look was all so fly.  It's funny how huge those earrings would get.  

Flash forward twenty-three years,  and bam! Ripped jeans are back in effect.  I found these jeans at Target and had to have them. You know to make up for when I was younger, lol. They are also as fly now as they were then.

As my moms late bloomer, I didn't get my ears pierced til sometime in middle school.  By then the doorknocker craze had passed, but lo and behold.  I was at Buffalo Exchange and came across these bad boys and grabbed them up.

Is my age showing. Have you yet to see fashion repeat its self?

What I'm reading

This will be the second book that I have read by author Michele Andrea Bowen. The first book being "Holy Ghost Corner", and I have to say it was hilarious!  So I am looking forward to what this book has in store.  I love a great read.  How bout you, reading anything good?

Getting all caught up- The Real House Wives

Well I've been getting myself caught up the Real Housewives of Atlanta for season 3.  I've only been able to catch shows every now and then. But I've come across this cool website called Blinkx.com that has them all starting from episode one.  What a relief it was to find them. 

I'll have to admit that I started off not liking the show when it first started, but a local network started to rerun seasons 1 & 2, and to my surprise I found myself hooked.  I liked the idea that they weren't just rich women sitting around spending money.  Many of the women have careers and a life. Although I have to admit there is a lot of nonsense that goes on with some of the girls.  But regardless I'm hooked.  And did I forget to mention that watching this show is one of my guilty pleasures?

Look of the day: Chunky Scarf

This look is just a reminder that I need more chunky scarfs in my wardrobe.   They can really make and finish an outfit.  I can really see myself wearing something like this to run errands or for just a casual day out and about.

Products I want to try As I Am Naturally

I came across this hair care line called As I Am Naturally and I  would so like to get my hands on these two products from the line. 

I used the last of my Giovanni conditioner on my last wash, so I won't feel bad about trying something new in place of a product that I have already exhausted. 

My twist out really needs help.  I may get one good twist out after maybe five attempts. I know, not good.  So I'll give this a try with all it promises. 

I'll give a more in depth review once I get my hands on this product and actually try them. 

I really need to get out more

Well it's Sunday, and I'm wrapping up my bedside church for the day.  And growing tired of my computer.  I had a long talk with my oldest sister about a little endeavor we would like to get off the ground and other family matters.  I played in my hair.  I also thought about some of my past post and why I haven't had any inspiration to post anything.  I've come to the conclusion that I really need to get out more than I have.  How can one receive inspiration when they contain themselves within four walls?

I want this sweater.  I love the asymmetrical shape and the different knit patterns through out. And at only 15 dollar from over a hundred dollars regularly priced. I just might have it, case closed. I love a deal! 

Blah, Blah, Blah

This has been my mood lately.  Not really in the mood to do anything.  Not really in the mood to talk/blog.  Not in the mood to shop not even window shop! Yes, a serious case of the blahs.   Nothing seems to be getting my creative juices flowing, whats the deal with me? Lord I wish I knew.  Right now I'm forcing myself to write this.  And the more I write the better I'm feeling. And realizing that its not always what you feel like.  And that how I feel should not dictate what I do and don't do. 

This is a new year, a clean slate, full of new opportunities.   It's not about how I feel, but more about what I want. Acting on what I want will get me a whole lot further than acting on how I feel.
